“Other People’s Religion”

“Myth” is often seen as something which is categorically false, while “religion” is (sometimes) viewed as “absolute truth.” And yet, myth and religion are really one and the same. In this essay, I explore those differences (and similarities) and show how the Twelve Steps have provided an answer to the West’s deepening “mythlessness.,” or lack of an effective, living myth.
